Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Georg Herzog

Prof. Herzogresearches in the field of energy-efficient, electromechanical drives. Key areas of work are the design and optimisation of hybrid-electric and battery-electric powertrains, automated design methods for electromechanical actuators, energy and power management, and loss mechanisms in soft magnetic materials.

After studying electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Prof. Herzog worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Electrical Machines and Devices at the TUM (Prof. Lorenzen) until he completed his doctorate. He then worked as a development engineer and as an assistant to the management at Robert Bosch GmbH in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and Gerlingen respectively. Prof. Herzog has headed the Department of Energy Conversion Technology at TUM since 2002. Prof. Herzog is a Senior Member of IEEE as well as a member of VDE and VDI.

At the end of the first day, we invite all stakeholders and participants to a special event location for an evening of sharing and dinner: Erich-Brost-Pavillon.

At a height of 38 meters on the roof of the former coal washing plant, the event room, which is glazed on three sides, offers a breathtaking panoramic view – from the arena on Schalke to the Essen skyline and the Oberhausen gasometer.

The Erich Brost Pavilion is located in the coal washing plant of the Zollverein Essen UNESCO World Heritage Site.
